Why does my heater smell when I first turn it on?
A dusty, burning smell for the first 15 to 30 minutes of the season is usually dust burning off the heat strips or burners. If it's strong, smells electrical or like gas, or doesn't go away, turn the system off and call us.
My heat pump is blowing cool air. Is it broken?
Not always. Heat pump air feels warm, not hot, and the unit runs a defrost cycle in cold weather. If the house won't hold temperature, it needs a look.
What does emergency heat mean?
It's the backup electric heat strips running without the heat pump. It works, but it costs a lot more to run. If the light stays on by itself, call us.
